MESA

MESA is a program ran by San Diego State University (SDSU) where students can participate in a variety of engineering challenges spanning coding, architecture, design, robotics, and mechanics, collaborating with various local schools to complete them. Students participating in the program will have the opportunity to obtain internships, mentoring, and networking in engineering and related fields. They will work on research projects and receive guidance for their STEM related degree.

MESA serves almost 25,000 middle school, high school, community college and university level students throughout California, and teaches our youth how to apply classroom concepts and theory to the real-world. We believe that developing this interest in STEM can positively change one’s path to success. With the program, our students are academically enriched and given the opportunity to obtain experience in STEM related careers. Our hope is to inspire a college-going mindset in our students so they can achieve future success. Students who were part of MESA were 80% more likely to be admitted into a University of California campus.

We’ve had several activities for our students to participate in over the past year, allowing them to develop critical STEM and analytical skills.
